This was me awaiting a very special delivery that was due on September 26th just a "few" years ago.
I did not find out whether I was having a boy or a girl ahead of time, but I had really prayed for a little girl throughout my entire pregnancy. I had also prayed that I would have a quick and easy labor and delivery (this was back in the days of "natural childbirth"!), that I would have about a 7 lb. baby (the doctor had said I might have to have caesarean if any larger) and that I would NOT HAVE TO HAVE AN ENEMA!
Walt and I went to the County Fair on that Thursday night, September 25th. We got home, did our Lamaze exercises and got in bed about 12:15 am. About 15 minutes later my water broke and contractions started. When we left for the hospital about 4:20 am, contractions were about 6 minutes apart and over the next 5 minutes they got to be TWO minutes apart! Walt had the car floor-boarded and we made it from home to the hospital (which was about 20 miles) in 11 minutes!
After getting me into the hospital, he went back down to park the car and to get the camera, and by the time he came back upstairs, this little head was crowning!
God answered all my prayers! There was NO time for an enema (PTL!) and Rebekah Faith was born at 6:29 am and just look at what she weighed in at! God is Good!
Your dad's first comment to me was, " Well, honey, you got everything you wanted all the way around - a short labor, no enema and a little girl!"

Love you two so much ~~ have a blessed weekend, Dawn
Oh, I am crying reading this! I am sitting here asking "why?" and I think it is two-fold. One- I love Faith (and you!) so much even though we have never met in real life. She and I have such similar hearts and I just relate to her and am ministered to by her in such a real and wonderful way that can only be Jesus! Two- I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how God answered every single aspect of your prayer and I am just struck by the fact that, especially with that heritage, I believe without a doubt that He WILL answer Faith's prayers for a baby of her own! Look how wonderful and personal and specific God is.....from the first moments of her life! May you do it, Lord, right now! Bring her and Chad that sweet baby so this wonderful godly heritage can continue to be passed on. Oh, the glory you will receive, Father! May THIS be the year of your miracle! I believe!!!!
Sorry for this long comment....I just loved this post so much, Mimi! You are lucky to have such a wonderful daughter, but she is also so lucky to have such a wonderful mother!
What a sweet post this is!!! I loved looking at all these pictures! So sweet!!
How great! I loved seeing all of the pictures! I haven't done my post yet, but I plan to get some good photos of her party with friends and post about that! Love her... and YOU! :)
OK, this doesn't have anything to do with this post, but I was cracking up after I read your comment on my blog. I love that you thought my blog name was from scripture....and then it wasn't! It completely makes me look like Little Miss Christian Slacker. So I want you to continue to think in your mind that it was completely derived from scripture. That was a much better story and has much more significance!!!!
This made my eyes water! Faith is an awesome girl and you are such a sweet mom!
The enema part of this story totally made me laugh! :)
Hope you guys had a great time celebrating!
This is the sweetest post ever...thank you for sharing your heart. Being a Mommy to a baby girl is the best gift God could have ever given me and it looks like it has blessed your life richly as well.
What a sweet and loving post! Faith is the kind of daughter most women long for and God saw fit to bless you very much with her!
Happy Birthday Faith! You have done your parents proud!!
How precious!!! What a wonderful tribute to a very special daughter.
Belated wishes to your daughter.
Isn't it wonderful how far "they've" come(whomever THEY are) with these girls and their deliveries? The delivery rooms, having their babies IN their rooms, the short length of stay. But the biggest of all, having the option of knowing WHAT they're having ahead of time if they choose to do so.
I can so relate to your pg outfit? :)
aww mimi, I LOVED this post.
Very sweet, very special.
Thanks for sharing!
