Say Hello to Lewis

As some of you already know from reading my daughter's blog, we have a new addition to our family. On Friday, March 28, Walt and I drove to Creedmoor, NC to select our new Ragdoll kitten. We had a choice of 3 different males from 2 different litters and I must say it was VERY difficult because they were all so tiny. (If you know anything about Ragdoll kittens, they are born pretty much white all over and it takes several weeks for their coloring to start showing up.) There was, however, one little guy that "stood out" to the breeder and to us. He was the one that always came to the side of the bin that they were in and meowed and wanted to be picked up.

We picked this little guy on that day when he was not even 3 weeks old! Was he cute or what?

We have been waiting since that time to get to bring him home and FINALLY, last Friday, Faith and I drove up to pick him up. Since we had picked him out early on, we had gone ahead and told the breeder that we were going to name him Lewis so that they could go ahead and be calling him by his name. He was perfect on his way home and did not make a sound on his over 3 hour ride home in his crate in the car!

He got settled into our house very quickly; in fact, I told the breeder that if I didn't know better that I would have thought she had given him a floorplan of my house to study because he acted like he knew his way around our house as soon as he got here! She had warned me that he was very active and needed someone to play with him alot - and boy, was that an understatement! He definitely knows his name and I can't help but wonder if it's because he's heard it so much for getting into trouble! No wonder the breeder allowed me to get him 2 weeks earlier than normal, huh? LOL! He's already let Champ know who's in charge, too!

He is 12 weeks old today and just gets cuter every day! His coloring is getting darker and he is definitely growing. He is really alot of fun and I am sure that ya'll will be seeing lots of pictures of this little guy!
