2009 - Hiding God's Word Verse #14

In January of this year, I committed to the LPM Scripture Memory Challenge to memorize 2 verses of scripture each month for the year 2009. I can hardly believe it but the verse for the second half of July brings us to verse number 14 out of 24!

But without faith, it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.
Hebrews 11:6 (NKJV)

I also really like the way The Message interprets it:

It's impossible to please God apart from faith. And why? Because anyone who wants to approach God must believe both that he exists and that he cares enough to respond to those who seek him.

Unfortunately, I still do not have my camera back from being repaired so I cannot post a picture of my actual memory verse on my index cards as I normally do.  I sure hope that I get it back soon! But, until then I thought I would leave you with a little something that should bring a  smile to your face!

I had chosen that verse for my second memory verse....it is a great choice!!

Mine this time is:

"God will strengthen you with his own great power so that you will not give up when troubles come, but you will be patient." (Colossians 1:11 NCV)

Have a great day!

~Beth

I was just reading this the other day. It is such a powerful scripture...makes me stop and think how small my faith so often is.
