2009 - Hiding God's Word

I can't believe that 2009 is already here, but I am excited about what God has planned for me and my family this year.

I had recently been thinking about starting a scripture memorization plan with the new year and then I read this post and decided to commit to do one year of scripture memorization with Beth Moore. I think that the accountability of doing it with other ladies will be an encouragement for me to stick with it for the entire year.

I've gotten my cute little spiral bound index cards and and I am ready to make my first entry for 2009 with these verses:

Proverbs 4:20-27 (The Message)

Dear friend, listen well to my words;
tune your ears to my voice.
Keep my message in plain view at all times.
Concentrate! Learn it by heart!
Those who discover these words live, really live;
body and soul, they're bursting with health.

Keep vigilant watch over your heart;
that's where life starts.
Don't talk out of both sides of your mouth;
avoid careless banter, white lies, and gossip.
Keep your eyes straight ahead;
ignore all sideshow distractions.
Watch your step,
and the road will stretch out smooth before you.
Look neither right nor left;
leave evil in the dust.

I have enjoyed getting to know so many of you this year and I look forward to getting to know you even better in the coming year.

My prayer is that God would richly bless each of you as you seek to know Him more this year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

What a great resolution for 2009! I did the memorization plan with Angie Smith...Psalm 139...I must admit that I fell short a few days and had to catch up, but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Many blessings to you this new year!

It certainly has be a pleasure getting to know you. I have grown to love your family just like my own. That little Emma Boo is just the cutest thing.....I feel like she's part mine. And Faith, I love that girl.....I pray for her a Chad everynight. I know God has a plan for them.....maybe this year!!! Wouldn't that be GREAT!

Happy New Year and blessings to you all!

What powerful verses you chose. I'm excited about this commitment to hide more of God's Word in our hearts.

I looked at Target today for a little binder like you had, and they didn't have any. I'll have to check Walgreen's tomorrow.

I love you!!

so..basically I feel like I want to start out all of my comments on your blog with "thanks" because after reading your posts I am so thankful to have you as a blog friend because you always seem to say something I need to hear. You help me by always putting things into perspective and basically, you just inspire me to be a better person, the person God intended me to be.
So thank you Mimi, for just being who you are.
I hope you and your family have a wonderful, blessed new year!

I'm also doing Beth Moore's "challange" of memorizing
two verses a month. I've been wanting to memorize Psalm 139 and guess what? It has exactly 24 verses. Perfect.
I'm glad our paths crossed in bloggyland. I love my blogging friends and will be lifting each one and their families up in prayer throughout this year.
Love,
Valerie
P.S. I made your chili/cream cheese dip the other day. YUMMY!!!
