Apparently...I'm a Blogging Slackard!

I received a comment from my daughter yesterday saying, "Mother, where are you and why aren't you blogging?????" So....at the risk of being ex-communicated from the blogging world I decided I better let ya'll know I'm still alive and kickin' out here!

I have just not been able to "get it together" lately. I was "tagged" by several of my sweet blogging friends recently and I have just simply not had the time to sit down to do the memes and awards, but I want you to know that I WILL!

I have not had very much to blog about in recent days, but I did have something exciting happen to me last week.  I had a very stressful day at work and when I finally got home that night it was dark outside when I went to check my mail.  There was a box in the mail from a company that said "Kritters In The Mailbox"!  I'll be honest -- I was a little nervous about EXACTLY what MIGHT be in this box! I'm not usually real crazy about "kritters"!

But, when I opened up the box, I found the sweetest gift from one of the sweetest people I have "met" through this blogging world, Dawn. She had read one of my previous posts about one of my favorite things and had remembered it.  This is what was in the box:

The cutest little pewter owl pin!

And the cutest owl socks you have ever seen!

How precious are these guys!!

I'll be honest -- it just lifted my spirits so much! Isn't it wonderful how God will use a friend to lift our spirits at JUST the RIGHT time! I think that's what I love so much about blogging! Many of you have no idea what an encouragement you are to me after a stressful day when I come home and read your posts.

Just know that God uses you in so many ways in my life and I thank each one of you for the encouragement that you give.  Even when I don't have time to leave a comment on your blogs or post on my own, I am still reading your blogs and are so blessed by them!

Please don't give up on me!  I promise I'll be back in the swing of things very soon!

What a sweet gesture from Dawn! Love those socks!

Sometimes I struggle with what to blog about...especially on days when nothing much is happening that I think anyone would be interested in. Seems the younger girls ALWAYS have something going on and I love to read about their lives, don't you?

My daughter calls me too just to "check" on us...nearly every day! "Mom, where have ya'll been? You know it's past 9 o'clock!!" har har

Hope you have a blessed Christmas!

How sweet! Isn't it nice to receive any gift, but especially an unexpected one?

I was tagged about a week ago and haven't done it yet. I'm pretty bad about those. I love reading everyone's answers, but I definitely slack on those.

Have a great weekend.
Love,
Valerie

'bout time! I've missed ya!

love the owl socks!

and about the markers for the tablecloth, I've seen several brands of permanent fabric markers that claim to not wash out. I still need to go and buy mine and probably will today. I'll let ya know. (I'm running behind!)

I'm glad you are black and I hope you are okay. I think it is okay to take a few days off from blogging. Sometimes things just have to be put aside for a time. I just thought you were probably busy preparing for Christmas!

Have a very Merry Christmas!
